Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Sr. Purchasing Agent to join our team. The Sr. Purchasing Agent will handle a variety of purchasing activities, build strong relationships with suppliers, and work together to improve quality, costs, and delivery times. This role requires combining practical business sense with industry expertise, analyzing company needs, reviewing supplier proposals, and making well-informed decisions based on quality, price, delivery timelines, and sustainability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews PakTech specifications & requirements, identifies options, contacts potential suppliers, obtains quotes, prepares, places, and monitors purchase orders for services, supplies, commodities, materials, components, and equipment (both off the shelf, and fabricated).
Acts as a liaison between the company and suppliers to communicate questions, requests for changes/substitutions, and/or escalate problems throughout the procurement cycle.
Works with existing suppliers to improve quality, delivery, sustainability and cost. Identify new suppliers, and/or new capabilities within the existing supplier base.
Coordinates with Service and Production Teams to ensure stock levels are maintained appropriately.
Ensures purchasing activities are conducted in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and are documented appropriately.
Ensures purchasing activities are conducted in compliance with industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices. Revises procedures and best practices when appropriate.
Participates actively in cost reduction initiatives and R&D BOM costing activities.
Delegates tasks accordingly, develops skills of other PakTech employees focused on supply chain functions, contributes industry knowledge to development and improvement processes.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in a business or related field, which may include Computer science, Business, or Engineering.
Five years of related experience.
Candidates with less formal education, but with 10+ years experience will be considered.
