Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Buyer with a deep understanding of the plastic resin market. The ideal candidate will have a strong network of contacts within major U.S. resin producers and possess the skills to negotiate and secure competitive pricing for raw materials. As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our supply chain meets the demands of our customers across various global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute purchasing strategies for raw materials (PE, PP, PVC) from major resin producers.
Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure access to the best quality products at competitive prices.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with resin producers and traders to optimize purchasing costs.
Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and product availability to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with Dubai HQ (sales, logistics, and finance) to align purchasing decisions with company goals and customer requirements.
Assess supplier capabilities, conduct periodic evaluations, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Coordinate with the logistics team and contractors to ensure timely delivery of purchased materials, managing lead times and inventory levels efficiently.
Stay informed on industry developments, market fluctuations, and new product offerings to support informed buying decisions.
Attend trade shows internationally
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or sourcing within the plastics or chemical industry.
Strong network of contacts within major U.S. plastic resin producers (e.g., ExxonMobil, Shell, Chevron Phillips Chemical, Braskem, Sabic, etc.).
In-depth knowledge of plastic resins (PE, PP, PVC) and the global plastics market.
Proven negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining supplier relationships.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess market conditions and supplier performance.
Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel as required to meet with suppliers and attend industry events.
