Position: Finance Analyst

Location: Charlotte, NC

Length: Contract, potential perm

Pay Rate: $60.56

Duration: 12-24 month contract with potential conversion

Work Schedule: 3 days in, 2 days remote (Mon, Wed, Thur in person)

Required Skills
  • Traded Products/Capital Markets knowledge (repo, reverse repo, stock loan/stock borrow, collateral, securities, derivatives)
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry (at BAC or a similarly-sized institution) researching and remediating data issues impacting financial, risk, or regulatory reporting functions, project management or other data management & data control environment;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Power Point) including advanced excel functions such as pivot tables, Vlookup and Microsoft Visual Basic (VBA) to supplement SQL skills in data analysis exercises.
  • A balance of strong analytical & problem-solving skills and excellent communication & presentation skills - the ability to dig into complex issues and then summarize in a clear, concise message to facilitate decisions and drive action;

Desired Skills:

SQL (preferred). Must have strong Excel skills if not

Demonstrated experience of key data analysis concepts thru creation of SQL queries (Oracle, Teradata, and/or MS-SQL) to analyze large, complex sets of data, and develop quantitative + qualitative analytical determinations

Knowledge and prior experience with Liquidity Reporting / Regulatory reporting

Basic working knowledge of Tableau

Strong knowledge and prior experience with Data Controls monitoring and/or Data Control governance practices

Banking or Financial Experience

Familiarity with BAC Enterprise Data Management Policy & Standards

Treasury background

Familiarity with ETL tools (Informatica)

BI Tools (PowerPivot, Tableau)

Reconciliation experience

Data Warehouse experience

Day to Day:

CFO DM is looking for a seasoned Data Management SME to join our Traded Products Team within CFO DM. Areas of focus will be supporting a mix of the following: 1) Perform Critical BAU Data review & analysis related activities across multiple Capital Calculator workstreams, 2) Capital Regulatory Projects/Initiatives, 3) Infrastructure Optimization/Operational Excellence (OpEx) work efforts and 5) Team Metrics Tracking & Management Status Reporting. This role will also be accountable for contributing execution subject matter expertise on important strategic & tactical data related issues that impact the team. Candidate needs to demonstrate a strong passion for Data Analytics and Data Remediation. This role will be responsible for helping to analyze data issues and drive change through collaboration and partnership with Business Partner and Technology teams.

Core functions are: knowing the data, sourcing the data and controlling the data. This includes analysis, design, data derivations, control design, translation of business requirements, issue management, audit/governance support and process/design documentation.

Candidates should have extensive work history in several of the following key responsibilities:
• Assume ownership of current CFO Data Management controls across multiple finance products. Ownership will include building, delivering and monitoring daily data controls essential for Regulatory Reporting.
• Unwind SQL and ETL layers in Oracle database to identify issues/root cause analysis, understand logic/derivations and work with internal and upstream tech partners to resolve issues in a timely fashion
• Generate daily and monthly reports on data quality breaks and data validation shifts outside of BAU thresholds
• Drives and participates in design, development and implementation of future Treasury data controls
• Data Control Governance - Ensuring process controls, data validation activities, and measurement processes remain timely and relevant
• Create and maintain required documentation and evidence to ensure adherence to EDM Standards and RDA requirements
• Work under minimal supervision on Corporate Treasury projects that require creative solutions under very tight deadlines
• Operational Excellence - Improving CFO Data Management functions for production, data governance, data change and regulatory/audit activities
• Change Management - Validates data and signs off on reports within test environments to confirm application accuracy, functionality and EDM Standards are met
• Manage relationships with diverse data partners and technology teams to support initiative work that demand aggressive timelines
• Collaborate with PMO Leads to and provide updates on project timelines, deliverables and obstacles / challenging
• Create reporting for senior management that proactively provides project status, issue / enhancement tracking and project implementation
