Job Description:

The Insurance Claims Manager is responsible for overseeing the insurance claims processes for the Company related to Property and Casualty, Vehicle, and Workers Compensation coverages. They are responsible for ensuring that the claims are processed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This position will report to the Sr. Compliance Counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

Claims Management:
  • Oversees the insurance claims process, from initial claim filing to final settlement.
  • Ensures that claims are investigated thoroughly and promptly; work with both internal departments and third-party administrators and claims adjusters to obtain all required documentation in support of the insurance claims.
  • Works with internal Maintenance and Construction teams to ensure property repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Manages the subrogation process with third-party insurance carriers.

Team Management:
  • Lead and manage a team of Insurance Claims Assistants.
  • Providing training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Evaluating team performance and providing feedback.

Investor Reporting & Regulatory Compliance:
  • Manages regular internal reporting to provide updates on the progress of all insurance claims.
  • Manages and oversee documentation pertaining to Compliance and Safety regulations, including OSHA 300 and 300A logs.
  • Stay up to date on insurance trends and best practices.

Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service to third parties involved in the claims process, including residents/claimants.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in insurance, business, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the insurance industry, including claims management and processing; work experience in house at an insurance company preferred.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
  • Experience managing a team (remote preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
