THE POSITION

We're looking for a visionary and strategic leader with an entrepreneurial spirit who will bring an innovative mindset and an interdisciplinary toolkit to our mission. As Head of Program Innovation, you will own the full program lifecycle-conducting audience research, ideating creative opportunities, designing clever solutions, executing a robust portfolio, and evaluating impact.
Pittsburgh Tomorrow's Head of Program Innovation will serve on our Executive Leadership Team alongside our Founder/CEO and COO. As a social innovator, you will use principles of systems and design thinking, human-centered design, and agile project management to deliver solutions to our region's challenges through innovative program design.
Leadership and Management - You will be a hands-on dreamer-rolling up your sleeves to be both a champion of curiosity as well as a process-driven operator to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
Community Learning and Engagement - You will be active in the community-conducting market and audience research activities to identify gaps and opportunities while building and maintaining relationships with funders, community partners, and beneficiaries.
Design and Operations - You will be a program incubator-prioritizing initiatives, leading design, allocating resources, and overseeing logistics to execute high-potential new opportunities that are aligned with our mission.
Project Management - You will be mission control for the team-developing and communicating a clear program vision and roadmap, assembling programs into a well-organized strategic portfolio, creating and managing action plans and timelines, informing and monitoring budgets, and communicating project details to teams and the community.
Monitoring and Evaluation - You will be results-oriented-establishing frameworks for assessing program effectiveness and impact by using qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision-making, encourage continuous improvement, and shape public reports.
OUR REQUIREMENTS
You'll be a great fit, if you can:
Thrive in a fast-paced, forward-thinking, dynamic environment with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Demonstrate 5+ years experience building, developing and scaling high-performance programs or products.
Present a diverse portfolio illustrating application of program innovation and creativity and mastery of strategy and design.
Design and build new/improved programs-from idea to impact-in both an individual contributor and leadership role.
Apply the principles of design thinking and human-centered design to learn about people's attitudes, motivations, and experiences and build programs to address their needs and solve challenges.
Demonstrate exceptional analytical thinking, decision-making, interpersonal and executive communication, time management, and collaboration skills.
Lead, manage and coach high-performing teams to set big goals, monitor progress, take accountability, and pursue excellence.
