Seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in multifamily and/or commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in estimating ground-up projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of project scopes, cost analysis, and bid preparation. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and competitiveness of project bids, contributing greatly to overall success.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for multifamily and commercial ground-up construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to create accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop cost-effective solutions and identify potential risks and opportunities in project bids.
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements and budgetary constraints.
Monitor and adjust estimates throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project changes and updates.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements and expectations.
Maintain and update a database of costs for materials, labor, and other project-related expenses to improve accuracy in future estimates.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience as an Estimator in multifamily or commercial construction, with a focus on ground-up projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with LEED or other sustainable building practices.
Knowledge of local market conditions and trends in construction.
