Job Description:

Position Overview:

Seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in multifamily and/or commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in estimating ground-up projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of project scopes, cost analysis, and bid preparation. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and competitiveness of project bids, contributing greatly to overall success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for multifamily and commercial ground-up construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to create accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop cost-effective solutions and identify potential risks and opportunities in project bids.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements and budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor and adjust estimates throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project changes and updates.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements and expectations.
  • Maintain and update a database of costs for materials, labor, and other project-related expenses to improve accuracy in future estimates.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience as an Estimator in multifamily or commercial construction, with a focus on ground-up projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with LEED or other sustainable building practices.
  • Knowledge of local market conditions and trends in construction.
