We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant/Tax Preparer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting tax research, providing accounting and financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. The Senior Accountant/Tax Preparer will work closely with our clients to develop tax planning strategies and provide guidance on financial matters.
Essential Responsibilities
Take ownership of project from start to finish. Should be a self-starter and should be able to manage projects without much oversight
Experience in bookkeeping/accounting and preparing tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, S-Corps, Sole Proprietors, and Trusts.
Perform Bank reconciliations, reconcile credit card statements
Review or Report and classify transactions as assets, liabilities, equity, income or expenses.
Produce or review journal entities. Be able to close the monthly books and generate financial statements. Thorough Knowledge of maintaining books on an accrual basis.
Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annually payroll reports/ sales tax reports (knowledge is desirable)
Education/Experience
Bachelor's / Master's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in public accounting desired
CPA / MS (Taxation) or pursuing these qualifications is desirable

Knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (excel and word), and Thompson Reuters. QuickBooks Pro advisor certification is desirable; working knowledge of SAGE is desirable.
