Job Description:

The Position:

Our Client seeks a Denver based investment professional to join its tightly knit team as a Senior Associate. The Senior Associate will engage in both investment management and business development activities. Our Client is a boutique private equity fund manager with a highly unique investment strategy, investing primarily in lower middle market industrial businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Management:
  1. Sourcing and Evaluating Investments: Identify and assess new investment opportunities.
  2. Underwriting: Manage the underwriting process for co-investments and direct investments, ensuring thorough due diligence.
  3. Investment Memorandum Development: Develop detailed investment memorandums, presenting analyses and recommendations.
  4. Investment Committee Participation: Contribute insights and strategic input in investment committee meetings.
  5. Investment Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor and analyze existing investments to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  6. Investor Reporting: Generate quarterly presentations and reports for investors, ensuring transparency and clarity.

Business Development:
  1. Business Plan Development: Collaborate on expanding Company's investment offerings
  2. Investor Pipeline Development: Support building a robust limited partner investor pipeline for future fundraising and deployment.
  3. Fundraising Material Creation: Assist in creating compelling fundraising materials.
  4. Ecosystem Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships within Company's ecosystem, enhancing network and opportunities.
  5. Syndicated LP Network Development: Co-develop a network of syndicated Limited Partners (LPs) for larger co-investments.
  6. Network Expansion: Strategically expand Company's network, adding value to the firm's growth.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications/Experience:
  1. Advanced degree(s) (e.g., MBA) and/or relevant accreditation(s)
  2. Strong financial acumen, and ability to build financial models and perform risk/reward analyses.
  3. 3+ years of experience in investment banking or private equity, ideally in the industrials sector.
  4. Expertise in the private equity investment process, including due diligence, financial analysis, and transaction negotiation.
  5. Passion for working in a small, fast-paced, and results-oriented environment.
  6. Strong work ethic, data-driven mindset, and excellent communication skills.
  7. Demonstrated leadership skills: proactive, thoughtful, good listener, high emotional intelligence, and a consensus builder.
