Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Development Associate to join our growing team. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the full lifecycle of real estate development projects, from initial site selection and acquisition through design, entitlement, construction, and stabilization. The Senior Development Associate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including construction teams, architects, engineers, legal, and finance professionals, to ensure the successful execution of multifamily and BTR development projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the identification, underwriting, and acquisition of new development sites for multifamily and BTR projects.
  • Lead due diligence efforts, including site analysis, market research, financial modeling, and risk assessment.
  • Manage the entitlement process by coordinating with local municipalities, attorneys, and consultants to secure necessary permits and approvals.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and financial performance to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and general contractors to ensure project design aligns with the firm's vision and financial objectives.
  • Support the preparation and presentation of investment memos and project updates to senior management and investment committees.
  • Coordinate with the asset management team to ensure a smooth handoff of completed projects and provide input on operational strategies for stabilized assets.
  • Track market trends and regulatory changes that may impact the development of multifamily and BTR assets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, developers, investors, and other industry professionals to support future growth opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in real estate development, preferably with a focus on multifamily and/or BTR projects.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant real estate software.
  • Experience with project management, budgeting, and scheduling for real estate development projects.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of local Atlanta real estate markets and entitlement processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong network within the real estate development community is a plus.
