Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Technician to support our client's medical facility based in Lenexa KS 66219. This is a 3 month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Lenexa KS 66219

Duration: 3 Months+

Schedule: Monday 6am-2:30pm Tues-Friday 7am-3:30pm ,1st Shift

Pay Range: $17.20 per hour

*Pay rate is based on years of experience and educational qualifications.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Specimen Processing Technician I (SPT I) to support our Specimen Processing Department. The ideal candidate will possess a data entry background and demonstrate strong organizational skills. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of specimens, directly impacting customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department, including A-station, presort, and pickup and delivery of processed specimens.

Engage in imaging/microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting of specimens.

Maintain high accuracy and efficiency in all tasks, adhering to productivity and quality standards.

Learn and understand various specimen types related to tests ordered by clients.

Stay updated on compliance regulations related to test ordering, adapting to daily changes.

Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and maintain a neat and clean work area.

Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing demands of customers.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Knowledge: Basic computer skills; preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and specimen processing.

Experience: No prior experience required; however, previous laboratory or production environment experience is a plus. A medical background, including familiarity with medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory, is preferred.

Skills:

Strong data entry skills (minimum 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour).

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work in a biohazard environment while practicing good safety habits.

Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
