Pay Range- Regular Full Time- $24.84 - $33.53
Benefits: $300.00 Health Stipend each month, 13 hours of PTO a year , 1 week of Subsistence PTO for Harvest , (Benefits will change once we hire an Executive Director)
Job Summary
Job Summary: Job incumbent will provide support to the Yukon River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission Chair and Executive Council. Job incumbent will ensure effective operations of the fish commission with a high level of customer service.
Adhere to the Yukon River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission Constitution and Bylaws. By providing timely and effective service along with the ability to interact with others in a way that inspires trust and demonstrates respect, compassion and empathy.

Representative Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Chair and Executive Director
, job incumbent will:
1. Collaborate with Chair/ Executive Director to plan, organize, and prioritize activities to ensure
efficient Fish Commission operations, including coordinating deadlines and following up on
action items.
2. Answer incoming calls, process mail and correspondence, responding to inquiries
and requests.
3. Prepare reports, meeting minutes, letters, data, spreadsheets, presentations, and
other correspondence, including reviewing, editing and format for accuracy.
4. Provide everyday support to Chair/ Executive Director, including managing calendars, purchasing supplies, updating Commissioner resolutions from tribes, , arranging travel, and other programmatic needs.
5. Aide in the coordination, tracking, achievement and reporting of strategic plan andquality initiatives, including advocacy for meetings
6. Assist with special projects and event planning and coordination.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Three to five years of office experience with progressively higher responsibilities
and/or administrative support.
3. Proficient with a wide range of personal computer applications including Excel, Word,
Outlook, Power Point, and Zoom.
4. Ability to prioritize and problem solve.
5. Two years of experience in customer service preferred.
6. Familiarity with planning and organization events or special projects preferred.
7. Must have valid Alaska Driver's License.
8. Must pass State of Alaska background check.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
2. Proficiency in operating computers and using variety of applications.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Effective time management and prioritization of activities to ensure effective fish commission
operations.
5. Interpersonal skills with ability to build productive relationships inside and outside of the Yukon River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission.
6. Demonstrated ability to work on a team or independently.
7. Ability to take initiative and problem solve.
8. Ability to adapt to changing conditions and work assignments, and manage multiple
assignments, and tasks.
9. Attention to accuracy and detail.
10. Knowledge in Tribes, tribal sovereignty, tribal self-determination, tribal resource,
land stewardship, natural culture resources, food security or fish and wildlife, preferred.
Supervision: This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.
Supervision
Physical demands: Requirements are those of normal office type work with extended hours of sitting and operation of standard office and computer equipment, which involves repetitive motions and potentials in eye strain. Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty (20) pounds. Incumbent must be able to work in a busy and sometimes stressful environment. May be requested to work after hours or on the weekend. Travel may be required, includes traveling to villages. Some driving may be required for programmatic errands.
Summation:
Summary: Incumbent will support the daily operations of the Yukon River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission, and must work well with the Executive Council, Commissioners, and other entities.
This position requires excellent time management skills, writing skills and ability to prioritize multiple demands. Incumbent will evaluate and analyze situations to take appropriate action, practicing excellent follow-through skills, perseverance, flexibility, attention to detail and ability to respond quickly to changing priorities while staying focused during multiple interruptions.
