The Role - Project Manager, Product Development

As the Project Manager in this capacity, you are an integral part of the product innovation pipeline. As the primary focus of this role, you will oversee and facilitate the completion of projects from conception to launch. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and experienced project manager with a proven ability to manage various projects simultaneously.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Initiate, plan, execute, and control all aspects of new product development to ensure that our projects remain on track and within budget.
  • Define and manage launch schedules that guarantee project completion in a timely manner.
  • Keep our development processes up-to-date and aligned with company governance.
  • Manage internal and external meetings, ensuring that all stakeholders are kept in the loop.
  • Work closely with Contract Manufacturers to minimize risks and maximize efficiency.
  • Centralize and organize all project documents, from ingredient lists to final testing reports into a well-organized documentation system.
  • Navigate the approval process for product briefs, both internally and externally.
  • Coordinate product samples for third-party testing, manage labs, and maintain PAO & Shelf life documentation.
  • Oversee agency management of OTC Product Listings with the FDA and ensure that all products meet necessary regulatory requirements to stay compliant with regulations.
  • Participate in Product Innovation activities, including sample product evaluation, data collection, reporting, and formula revision management.
  • Coordinate everything from benchmarks to packaging components for stability testing.
  • Manage third-party labs for product testing to ensure our quality standards are maintained.
  • Document and coordinate primary and secondary packaging prototypes and initiate artwork briefs.
  • Oversee internal product sampling, collect and document feedback from testers.
  • Create visual project trackers and dashboards to keep everyone informed of progress.
  • Work seamlessly with Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and other teams to support collaboration across departments for project alignment.
  • Regularly maintain the 24-month Product Roadmap with revisions and updates as directed by the Head of Product to ensure alignment with innovation and company strategy.
  • Assist the Head of Product with research and development projects and special assignments.
  • Represent the Product Development team at offsite events with our sales force.

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or similar field required
  • 3-5 years project management experience required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Proven track record of successfully launching new products with a CPG brand
  • High level of proficiency with project management software (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, MS Project, Jira)
  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycles and Stage Gate (aka phase gate) processes
  • Ability to manage time constraints and multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Knowledge of end to end project management preferred
  • Strong leadership abilities with a talent for motivating cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent change
