The Product Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the product development calendar, execution of the product, and on-time delivery.
Product Manager: will serve as "expert" for the Product Management function.
Self starter & confident in decision making
Great communication both internally ( HQ & AUS) & externally ( factories & partners)
Understands the "big picture" strategy and can dive in to execute founders vision
Understands the life cycle of product development and owns the critical path calendar.
Owns and operates: planning, forecasting, SKU management, exit strategy, pricing
Market expert, including competitive landscape
Daily Functions:
Develop and refine product concepts and collections. Work with freelance designers to create annual plans for product releases. Ideally this person is a cutting-edge creative who understands fashion & style and wants to help us differentiate our brand in the endurance space.
Knowledge of the triathlon, cycling, running and endurance spaces. Continual market research to identify consumer needs and industry trends.
Work with our existing main supplier (in China) and fringe suppliers. (Daily communication, purchase orders). Identifying and building relationships with new suppliers for both finished products and raw materials. Potentially exploring suppliers outside of China.
Ensuring quality control standards are met for production
Work with Chief of Sales to identify sales patterns and products for reorder.
Work with Marketing manager to identify seasonal and marketing objectives. Understanding of the challenges of working with a brand targeting seasons in both hemispheres and ordering/marketing products accordingly.
Monitoring sales and customer feedback to inform future product decisions.
What You'll Need:
Minimum 3 years of experience in apparel product development
Extensive attention to detail and follow through related to calendar, vendor relations, and inner department relations
Detailed knowledge of garment construction and textiles
Creative and highly motivated team player
Illustrator 10, CS, CS2. Preferred knowledge at intermediate level
A Merchandising or Bachelor's degree is preferable but not required
