Job Title: Inventory & Demand Planner

Job Summary: The individual in this position will be key in supporting the company's overall business strategy and supply chain initiatives. This individual will provide analytical, organizational, and process support to drive inventory optimization.

From the moment a product is introduced to the market to the final moment it is phased out, the Demand Planner is there every step of the way, ensuring inventory is being optimized, sales trends are being monitored, and financial plans are being met. Nested within a larger department responsible for allocations and operations, the Demand Planner takes on the role of always approaching solutions via a supply chain lens. A successful candidate will help achieve these goals globally across all channels by projecting sales for our best sellers, highlighting missed opportunities, and adding an analytical perspective to our business. Prior footwear experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive improvements in forecasting accuracy and fill rate
  • Oversee demand planning and replenishment by SKU
  • Forecast future supply needs and initiate proactive communications identifying short-term and long-term supplier issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Production, Warehouse/Logistics) to drive inventory optimization
  • Partner with other departments to support new customer product launches, customer pipeline orders, and promotional events
  • Oversee inbound/outbound inventory; maintain ongoing communication with factories to ensure timely and accurate supply flow
  • Manage excess/aged inventory levels
  • Analyze SKU productivity and identify items for discontinuation
  • Investigate and timely communicate any possible risks that have significant impacts on inventory and recommend solutions/alternatives
  • Key player in developing process and reports to enhance inventory planning and support company initiatives
  • Publish various weekly reports, maintaining them as well as updating them as needed
  • Style-level demand planning and forecasting for 100+ top selling items globally (bottoms-up planning)
  • Highlight missed inventory opportunities
  • Propose additional inventory needs
  • Roll up style forecasts and identify areas where style-level expectations do not meet top-line projections (tops-down planning)
  • Collaborate with Merchandising/Design team to ensure business plans and priorities are aligned
  • Monitor inventory through its entire lifecycle and propose action plans when necessary
  • Work on various one-off analytical projects based on business needs

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in Demand Planning, Merchandise or Retail Planning, Forecasting, Replenishment, Supply Chain or related function
  • Proven capability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across organizational boundaries
  • Strong data analysis skills with ability to apply findings quickly
  • Ability to mine various data sources to create a picture of current and future inventory position
  • Working knowledge of the supply chain and processes as they relate to inventory
  • Ability to multi-task with extreme attention to detail while working on multiple projects
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills; ability to work independently
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly growing environment and is forward-thinking and reactionary to the needs of the business
  • Excellent MS Excel skills and capable of adapting to new system
