POSITION TITLE: Member Engagement Specialist

SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: CEO

FLSA: Non-Exempt

LOCATION: Main Chamber Office

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

Member Engagement Specialist focuses on membership retention, engagement and inclusion. This team member works closely with all departments in the organization to support strategies that result in achieving the goals of the Chamber. In addition, this position supports all events and all calls when they come into the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Membership
• Process new member applications
• Onboard new members
• Keep Chamber database up to date
• Keep track of all Member participation activity
• Assist Members with the Members only section of sdbusinesschamber.com
• Organize ribbon cuttings
• Assist with securing new membership & partnership revenue
• Manage the Ambassador program

Retention
• Contact 15-20 members per day
• Encourage Members to attend events, advisory council meetings or professional development opportunities
• Contact past due Members to secure their renewal
• Network at all Chamber events to make sure Members are aware of all programs that the Chamber offers

Events
• Organize all Regional Connect networking events
• Support all events as instructed

Finance
• Process payments
• Create invoices when requested from Members

Additional Responsibilities
• Attend all staff meetings and activities as requested by Chamber leadership
• Support and attend Chamber events, activities and functions
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
• Proficient knowledge of computer systems, specifically in Microsoft Office, Canva, or similar
• Exceptional writing skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal, non-verbal, and listening communication skills with internal and external partners
• Ability to exercise discretion concerning privileged or confidential information
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work flexible hours in support of scheduled events
• Must have a valid state driver's license and reliable transportation to travel around the County. Employees will be compensated at IRS compliant mileage rates for using a personally owned vehicle.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Some lifting and carrying (up to 25 pounds)
• Requirements generally occurring in an office environment

Work Environment
• Primarily office-based with occasional off-site meetings and events

California Wage Transparency

Pursuant to California law, North San Diego Business Chamber provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be performed in California. The starting salary for this position is $23.00 per hour to $25.00 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. This position is qualified for additional commissions and annual performance-based wage increases and bonuses. North San Diego Business Chamber also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
