Their investments are based on a profound understanding of commodity market fundamentals. They aim to maximize investor capital in order to achieve outstanding results and support broader economic growth.

For more than 20 years, their Commodities team has fostered a culture of learning and collaboration. They are looking for an experienced Power Analyst to join this team, responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and forecasting global energy commodities markets and prices. This individual will help drive quantitative and qualitative research about the power sector across North America.

This role brings with it significant development potential, with the ultimate goal to enable the individual to progress into a Portfolio Manager role. You will be a vital member of the team, assisting in the production and delivery of an integrated and comprehensive analysis offering.

Your role:
  • Contribute to researching, analyzing, and articulating all factors influencing the anticipated future value of power in North American markets.
  • Produce concise, top-quality, and precise charts, presentations, and reports that empower core readers to make well-informed trading, risk management, and investment decisions.
  • Identify and anticipate emerging trends proactively, leveraging a robust understanding of power trading, modelling, and forecasting to predict market movements whenever possible.
  • Stay updated on evolving markets, encompassing price shifts, trade patterns, behavior, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics affecting power markets.

Experience/skills required:
  • Prior Commodities experience, experience in power market preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Python and/or VBA.
  • Proven track record of meeting challenging objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Excel skills are required.
