Role Description:
We are seeking a Director of Construction to lead and oversee the execution of renovation and development projects. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to the highest standards of quality and functionality. You will work closely with and manage our Project Managers and oversee our Development Team to manage all aspects of construction, from contract negotiation to final inspection, while maintaining oversight of the project teams and contractors.
Responsibilities:
-Lead and manage the execution of all renovation and construction projects.
-Negotiate and oversee contracts with contractors, vendors, and consultants.
-Manage project documentation, including contracts, budgets, RFI's, submittals, and schedules.
-Ensure compliance with all regulations and building codes.
-Track project timelines and costs, making adjustments as needed to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
-Coordinate all parties involved in the project, including owners, design consultants, contractors, and city inspectors.
-Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and ensure that construction standards are met.
-Oversee quality control and ensure that all projects meet company standards for appearance and functionality.
-Review and approve contractor payment applications and change orders.
-Solve complex construction challenges in an organized and systematic manner.
-Ensure all design disciplines are well-coordinated to avoid costly conflicts or errors.
Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
-Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on commercial real estate or hospitality renovations.
-Extensive experience managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
-Strong proficiency in construction management practices and software, including Microsoft Excel.
-Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
-Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
-Ability to work on-site and travel to various project locations.
-Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus but not required.
