Estimating Manager Position Overview: The Estimating Manager will be responsible for assisting Estimators and Assistant Estimators across various teams with preparing and submitting construction bids, overseeing take offs, negotiating subcontractor bids, and preparing and submitting contract documents. The Estimating Manager is expected to understand production rates, earthwork, environmental, and remediation regulations, and use their expertise to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Perform take offs to determine quantities for materials and labor for bid preparation.
Negotiate and secure subcontractor bids for each project and ensure accuracy of bids.
Develop bids according to project specifications and construction timelines.
Perform cost analysis and risk assessments for each project.
Research industry trends and pricing to determine cost estimates.
Prepare bid documents for submission.
Provide technical advice to project teams on construction costs.
Review change orders and process payments to subcontractors.
Monitor job progress and ensure that projects remain within budget.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Estimating & Cost Control.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Engineering experience preferred.
Experience estimating earthwork, environmental, and remediation projects.
Proven ability to manage a team of estimators and junior estimators.
Strong knowledge of take offs, production rates, and bid preparation.
Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Primavera P6 preferred
