Position Summary: Northstar Refrigeration seeks an experienced Senior Estimator with extensive HVAC and Refrigeration systems knowledge. This role drives growth and innovation in a rapidly expanding company.
Role Responsibilities:
Oversee the estimating process, ensuring efficiency and exceeding client expectations.
Build relationships with clients, designers, and subcontractors.
Facilitate team collaboration and communication with management.
Manage and mentor Assistant Estimators.
Participate in business development activities, presentations, and interviews.
Lead the Estimating team and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Prepare quantity take-offs, apply unit pricing, and establish project value.
Understand project scope through document review and stakeholder inquiries.
Prepare value engineering, qualifications, and assumptions for estimates.
Perform cost comparisons and reconcile with previous estimates.
Manage subcontractor solicitation and selection.
Prepare Exhibit B and scope sheets.
Ensure quality control of bids and estimates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or extensive industry experience.
Minimum of 8 years of estimating experience in the HVAC/R industry.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and estimating software (e.g., Quotesoft).
Understanding of market conditions' influence on pricing.
Working Conditions:
Office environment with quiet to moderate noise levels.
Frequent use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing.
Occasional standing, walking, and reaching.
