Job Description Summary

The VP - Finance, Wintrust Mortgage has responsibility for overseeing all finance activities including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, business planning, strategic analytics, and oversight of key systems and operational processes.  Leader is expected to drive efficiency and partner with business stakeholders to implement actionable deliverables and strategies that drive growth, profitability, and efficiencies while maintaining strong financial controls.

A qualified candidate will be a well rounded Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) expert with experience performing and directing all business and financial forecasting, and the ability to provide analysis in support of decision making in all matters operational, financial, and strategic.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for approving forecast and budget in close connection with business line CEOs, Mortgage CFO, and Corporate FP&A.


• Maintains close connection to the accounting department and assists in overseeing and approving certain critical processes.  Partners with accounting policies on ensuring compliance with SOX controls and oversight of more complex accounting processes.


• Supports month end close process including accrual development and oversight of accounting entries.


• Create business financial reporting including KPI’s and Branch Profitability to be consumed by WM Executive Team.


• Guide team members by providing support and oversight of existing reporting and analytics. ​

Knowledge/Skills/Background/Experience

• 5-7 years related experience


• Strong analytical mindset with technical ability, a high level of comfort consuming and synthesizing data from multiple systems of record, and excellent people and presentation skills. 


• High level of comfort partnering with business and technology stakeholders to plan, test, implement, and maintain key databases and business systems. 


• Must be comfortable with leading and influencing amidst the evolving needs of a business growing in size and complexity.
