Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Property Maintenance Worker to join our team and oversee the upkeep of our residential property. The ideal candidate will have experience in property maintenance, groundskeeping, landscaping, and animal care. This hands-on role requires a self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently, multitask efficiently, and take initiative in managing various aspects of the estate's operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of property maintenance tasks, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work (as permitted by local regulations), and general repairs to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of the estate's buildings and structures.
  • Assist as needed with landscaping through activities such as mowing, trimming, weeding, gardening.
  • Provide comprehensive care for any animals or livestock on the property, including horses, ensuring their well-being through proper feeding, grooming, exercise routines, and monitoring of health conditions.
  • Operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on various mechanical equipment, including tractors, lawnmowers, chainsaws, and other yard tools, ensuring their safe and efficient use.
  • Assist with special projects or tasks as assigned by the property owner or manager, such as construction, renovations, or event setups.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all relevant safety protocols, regulations, and best practices.
  • Perform routine inspections of the estate's structures, grounds, and equipment to identify and address any potential issues or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Flexibility for additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in property maintenance, groundskeeping, landscaping, or related fields, with a strong preference for experience working on large estates or residential properties.
  • Proven expertise in animal care, particularly with horses or livestock, including knowledge of feeding, grooming, and exercise routines.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining various mechanical equipment, such as tractors, lawnmowers, chainsaws, and other yard tools.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks including standing for extended periods, working in various weather conditions, and lifting up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Willingness and availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to meet the estate's demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Exceptional physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous manual labor tasks for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety protocols, regulations, and best practices in property maintenance and animal care.
