McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond is a progressive regional CPA/Business Consulting Firm based in Maryland. We are currently seeking an Accounting and Audit Manager to join our practice, working from our Frederick, Maryland office. The manager will build strong relationships within the firm and with our clients. Someone with a passion for business development is key, as this is an integral piece for career advancement. This leader will provide strong management of the accounting and auditing practice through application of technical skills, leadership abilities and engagement management experience, and act as a resource to other Firm offices to provide service assistance and/or technical expertise as needed.

Job duties will include:
Primarily responsible for leading audit and accounting engagements, as well as internal teams.
Collaborate with Principals, Partners and A&A teams on client matters that include planning, implementing, and controlling engagements to ensure quality of work.
Must build, maintain, and enhance client relationships, selling additional services and promoting the Firm whenever possible.
Obtain a thorough understanding of client's business, systems, and procedures to promote growth through repeat business and project extensions.
Drive growth through establishing and delivering business development goals.
As part of the accounting and audit team, you are responsible for providing efficient, effective, and profitable services through developing accurate budgets and timely billing that considers both firm and client expectations.
Consult with clients to provide feedback/make recommendations to assist them in streamlining their business processes.
Seek to improve performance, apply feedback, and set annual career objectives through supervising, training, and reviewing of staff on accounting and audit/review engagements.
Lead and oversee the firm's quality control initiative.
Work independently on larger engagements and assist in compiling information into final report.
Responsible for knowing and keeping up with professional pronouncements - research GAAP and financial accounting matters; recognize control weaknesses and recommend proper disposition; basic tax concepts and overall technical knowledge to best navigate client problems and situations; develop and prepare complete, accurate and orderly workpapers; review client financial statements.
Qualified applicants will possess:
BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related area
CPA
5-8 years of accounting and auditing experience in the public accounting industry
Supervisory experience
