Summary: The main function of a non-IT project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc or any other non-IT based project.

Job Responsibilities:

- Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.

- Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients.

- Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.

- Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

- Confer with management, production and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.

- Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.

Skills:

- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage one's time.

- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.

- Knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio etc.

Education/Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.

- PMI or PMP certification preferred.

- 5-7 years experience required.

Position's Contributions to Work Group:

The scope of this position includes management for all of the financial, commercial, contractual, and technical aspects of the AES project. The scope also includes oversight for the planning, design, procurement, assembly, test, shipment and commissioning of AES projects. This position is responsible to manage commercial aspects and support technical direction to various other project teams, including engineering, purchasing, production and field service.

In this role you will assist the Program Manager with the management of complex projects within the Advanced Electrical Services Project.

Typical task breakdown:

Typically develops solution to commercial problems and provide support in solving technical problems. Applies advanced knowledge and experience rather than fixed "textbook" methods. Must be able to achieve coordination of projects by working with design, contract, commercial and production planning specialists. Requires very little supervision. Exercises considerable latitude in determination of commercial objectives. Would typically direct entire project from Order Entry to commissioning of the Advanced Electrical Services solution. Work is self-started. Individual must be innovative and inventive to solve commercial or complex product problems. Ideas and recommendations to management relative to new applications and approaches are usually accepted when making policy decisions. Insure technical and commercial strategy is well understood throughout the manufacturing and engineering project team. Coordinate project schedule with both the customer and production control. Interface with the customer on technical and commercial matters. Prepares cost estimates at booking, shipment and at start up completion. Monitors progress to schedule in engineering, provisioning, and production operations. Monitors Customer Drawings and approves Operation/Maintenance Manuals. Regularly inspect progress of Advanced Electrical Services solution on shop floor to assure compliance to specification, resolving problems quickly, and project milestones are being met. Represent customers interest with respect to quality problem resolution. Assure project revenue recognition and profitability are timely and are in concert with Company financial plan. Interfaces with internal management of the company as well as customers. Internal contacts and peers may be department and business managers, project managers, production managers, product support team, and engineering. External contacts are project managers and management of Client Dealers, major clients, and sub-suppliers.

Work environment:

- Hybrid - Position is hybrid but requires onsite reporting from start of assignment, onsite full time for minimum first four weeks of assignment. After training onsite requirement is Tues-Thurs minimum with possible flex time Mon/Fri

Education & Experience Required:

- Associate's degree with minimum 5 years' experience OR

- Bachelor's degree with minimum 3 years' additional on the job experience

- Master's or above internships/project work will be counted toward experience requirement as long as durations are listed on resume.

- Prefer electric power/genset/backup power experience, but other industry experience will be considered as long as commercial and business skill sets are evident.

- Additional experience (above 5 years') will NOT be considered as overqualified

Technical Skills

(Required)

- Demonstrated knowledge of project and business management principles, methods and techniques.

- Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional technical teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.

- The position requires Experience in dealing with multiple disciplines such as contractors, consultants, engineering, sales, purchasing, and commissioning agents.

- Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office 365
