Hours: Monday-Friday 2:00PM-10:30PM with every 3rd weekend (Saturday)
Compensation: Competitive and based on experience
JOB SUMMARY: Performs specific procedures for the screening and controlling of material used in the processing, manufacture and distribution of blood and plasma products. Conducts complex, analytical or specialized testing, assuring all applicable regulatory authority requirements are met.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Independently performs, interprets and troubleshoots laboratory procedures related to unit and/or donor suitability testing and other assays as required.
Develops proficiency in laboratory information systems and workflow of samples.
Performs routine analytical testing using manual and automated methods and procedures.
Analyzes test results against set controls.
Completes maintenance and Quality Control (QC) per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Works within the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines and adheres to all regulatory standards within the Lab.
Shares information with internal contacts with common desire to reach a solution
Follows all safety regulations, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and rules.
Operates analytical instrumentation and technical laboratory equipment.
Performs and documents troubleshooting and calibration of instructions.
Performs and documents routine preventative maintenance of assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure.
Notifies Supervisor of unresolved instrument issues.
Qualifications & Requirements:
2 years of experience in a Lab required
Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT), licensure in the State of Tennessee preferred
Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
Associate degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
