Job Summary

The Senior Vice President, National Field Sales manages the strategic direction of the national IDN and GPO teams.  This role is responsible for directing individual contributor VP’s,Specialists, Managers, and Directors on the IDN team, and ensuring sales volume and margin objectives are met across sales channels.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for setting the strategic direction and initiatives for IDN team within the sales channel and the national GPO teams (Vizient, HPG and Premier).

Directly responsible for providing leadership and development (including training) of the IDN team, and indirectly responsible for providing direction and leadership to the VPs and Field Leadership in the sales force.

Responsible for growing sales and profit while controlling the expense necessary to effectively run a sales division.

Work closely with HR, Sales Compensation to devise compensation plans.

Collaborate with Sales force and Sales leadership to align and execute the IDN Strategy.

Partner with other Sales leadership to develop and deploy a comprehensive strategy to drive sales growth across multiple channels.

Establish and develop Provider Executive Relationships as the Executive Sponsor for Medline.

Represent Medline at industry trade and thought leader organizations.

Management responsibilities include:

Typically, manages, both directly and indirectly, through multiple VP’s, Managers and Directors.

Provides leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability.

Strategic, tactical and operational planning (1yr to 3yr horizon) for the function or department;

Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs;

Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops;

Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies;

Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 15 yrs of relevant management and high-level account strategy experience.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and other Office applications. Health Care sales leadership experience. Possesses professional verbal and written communication skills. Advance problem-solving ability.

Advanced sales and presentation skills. Strong business acumen. Strong leadership skills. Travel required (50%)
