Medical Assistant Certification is required.
As an integral member of the healthcare team, the Medical Assistant (MA) participates in the direct and indirect care of patients, health maintenance, patient instruction, collaborative planning and will function as an interdisciplinary team member. The Medical Assistant is an essential part of the operation of the Outpatient Infusion Center, collaborating with administrative, nursing and provider staff to support the patient experience and assisting in the achievement of department safety and efficiency.
Demonstrates true engagement and enthusiasm to contribute toward the care delivery for patients and families.
Assists with room prep and set-up for procedures within the practice following standard operating procedures.
Participates in stocking supplies, nutrition, and inventory management for Outpatient Infusion Center.
Takes vital signs, as needed.
Performs patient education and counseling.
Answers practice phones, take messages, and schedules appointments when appropriate, in addition to assisting with administrative work.
Escorts patients and labs/supplies within infusion department and to other areas of the hospital, as requested.
Clean equipment and room after each procedure, following infection control guidelines.
Clearly communicates to nursing/medical staff status of patient and room readiness to keep flow of procedures running efficiently.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Must hold a minimum of a Medical Assistant certificate within the state of Massachusetts
Current BLS required
Preferred 2 -3 years in a clinical setting.
Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards
Knowledge of practice operations and standards.
Knowledge and ability to perform tasks appropriate to the clinical setting.
Strong clinical and judgment skills.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Demonstrates effective oral, written, and telephonic communications skills.
