Job Description:

As a Weatherization Auditor, you will conduct inspections, pre-audits, and energy audits for the Agencys Weatherization Program and Energy Assistance Program as needed. Working with program participants in their homes makes up about 20% of this job. This work includes entering attic spaces, basements, crawlspaces, and living areas of the program participants home to access and determine needed services. You will be responsible for home measurements, combustion analysis, home diagnostic testing, data entry, and creation of work orders in a timely fashion and within the constraints of program policy and MN Department of Commerce guidance. Program training to become a BPI Certified Auditor is a required part of training. Youll work to educate and empower low-income program participants to understand their utility bills and lower their energy consumption, and act as a referral source agent for other eligible programs and evaluate and follow-up with service requests.

Preferred candidates will have prior knowledge of building composition, documentation of the ability to self-educate, and a desire to continue to study and develop skills. This position reports directly to the Weatherization Coordinator and with guidance from the Quality Control Inspector. Three Rivers Community Action, Inc. is a non-profit agency providing economic opportunities that strengthen individuals, families, and communities in southeastern Minnesota.

This full-time position (40 hours per week) will be based in Faribault or Zumbrota with frequent travel to clients' homes in Goodhue, Rice, and Wabasha counties, as well as for training and meetings. Travel using a personal vehicle is required; mileage reimbursement is based on the IRS mileage rate.

Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm (some flexibility). Starting pay rate is $24.00-$27.75/hour depending on qualifications.

Job offers are contingent on a reference check and criminal background check. Employee in this position may be subject to drug and alcohol testing if required by an entity at which work is performed.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalentPost-secondary training in energy auditing or construction-related activities or work equivalentValid drivers license and reliable transportation requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office, including ExcelMust be able to lift/carry 50 pounds (75-100 pounds with lift assistance such as a dolly or co-worker) and crawl, climb, and move in confined spaces.

Preferred qualifications but not required:
Current Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification, HEP Energy Auditor, HEP Quality Control Inspector Certification, or another Minnesota Department of Commerce approved certificationExperience in residential energy auditing, including M200 Weatherization Protocol, furnace testing and heating load calculations
