About this opportunity:
Cenovus is seeking a Sr. Production Lead at our Toledo Refinery. This individual will serve as the "go-to" expert for field production knowledge within a process unit complex. They will support Operational Rigor by maintaining essential operations documentation, including Operations Rounds and Checklists. The Senior Production Lead plays a critical role in ensuring operational continuity by acting as a liaison with the Scheduling and Planning Department and the 24/7 team. They provide guidance during planned outages and ensure that the operational impacts of maintenance are clearly communicated to key partners, including Senior Production Leads from other areas. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, as the Senior Production Lead will regularly step in for the Asset Operations Manager, contributing to the long-term stability of the Asset Team.



What you'll do:


  • Ensures delivery of area specific portions of the refinery operating plan through interface with Planning and Scheduling Team.

  • Develops and maintains operations critical documentation and work processes. Works in close coordination with Sr. Ops Advisor to support operator training.

  • On behalf of the Asset Operations Manager, leads the Asset Team to drive continuous improvement and long-term sustainability of the business through the use and prioritization of asset strategies.

  • Acts as primary operations contact for project development and turnaround planning for assigned asset. Coordinates and engages project and turnaround interface with shift teams.

  • Leads troubleshooting of operational issues and conducts investigations as needed.

  • Develops guidance, provides prioritization, and supports strategic refinery wide plans including input from Asset Team, 24/7, and other Senior Production Lead peers with a focus on clear and consistent communication.

  • Develops guidance for planned outages in coordination with Process Engineers, Scheduling & Planning, 24/7 Operations, etc.

  • Maintaining and updating operating procedures.


Who you are:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 8+ years' experience in petrochemical operations OR 4 years' experience in a relevant industry with either a technical degree or demonstration of increased responsibility


Preferred:

  • Refinery experience with the Alky Units

  • Additional technical education or equivalent in engineering is desirable

  • Analyzing sophisticated problems, troubleshooting, and problem solving: Systematically resolve root cause(s) of complex problems through questioning and inspecting, and then identify the best course of action to take

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize accordingly

  • Ability to identify and assess safety hazards

  • Ability to lead cross functional teams
