The Relationship Manager will cultivate a deep understanding of the client's business and the services provided by State Street, with the objective of optimizing client satisfaction, ensuring that the client experiences an excellent client experience at State Street. The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities within their client base.
Individual accountabilities include client & STT strategic alignment, thought leadership, client communication, monitoring satisfaction levels and sharing feedback internally, seeking out strategic revenue opportunities and relationship governance.

The Relationship Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders in commercial negotiations, and will ensure compliance with contract terms. Expected leadership behaviors include an ability to contribute to team excellence, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and willingness to drive strategy and engage with the client across its global locations

What you will be responsible for


  • Responsible for strategic day to day management and the maintenance of successful long term relationships of assigned accounts.

  • Responsible for all aspects of client relationships including preserving existing revenue base, and expanding revenue from assigned client relationships.

  • Ensures superior client satisfaction by acting as an advocate for clients and ensuring client issues are resolved. Proactive identification of client needs, and potential internal issues impacting client satisfaction.

  • Establishes senior level relationships with assigned clients. Keeps senior management informed of new developments, service issues, and new business opportunities.

  • Manages preparation of internal risk and compliance profiles, responds to inquiries from client auditors and periodically reviews client invoices for accuracy

  • Responsible for client retention and revenue expansion through existing services and cross sell. Creates barriers to exit through providing strategic value-added services.

  • Develops fee strategies and presents fee proposals for sign-off. Negotiates fees and contracts with clients, ensures fee schedules are properly implemented, and receivables are collected timely.

  • Provide overall project management for client related new business/systems initiatives. Acts as a liaison between client and business units to ensure successful implementation.

  • Leads conversion/start-up of new assigned client relationships into STT. Coordinates conversion/start-up with client and all applicable STT operating areas. Manages internal and client expectations

  • Must possess strong leadership and management skills.


Education & Preferred Qualifications

BS/BA degree required, MBA desirable.

Salary Range:
$70,000 - $115,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
