Internal Medicine, Newburyport



Our practice is located at the convenient location of 260 Merrimac Street in Newburyport, MA 01950. As an Internal Medicine office, we provide outstanding primary care and preventative health care to adult patients.

The Opportunity



We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to join our practice onsite, Monday through Friday. The desired hourly schedule for this position is from 8:00am to 5:00pm, but the team can also accommodate 4, 10-hour shifts weekly for flexibility! Please note, Medical Assistant shifts are staggered and can vary depending on provider schedules and site needs.


Our Medical Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Dedicated to clinical support, the Medical Assistant ensures a smooth patient flow within the practice and assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of physician or advanced practitioner.


This Medical Assistant will support an Advanced Practitioner in our practice who predominantly sees 15-17 patients per day. While we ideally aim to have our clinical support staff members working 1:1 with their assigned Provider, they do cross-cover, rotate, and collaborate with various providers to develop their skills, expose them to different styles, and expand their clinical knowledge.


The ideal candidate will proactively support providers by anticipating their needs, particularly in managing in-basket messages, while also handling standard medical assistant responsibilities. Proficiency in administering injections and immunizations is essential, with national certification strongly preferred.

  • Education: Formal medical education, training and certification as a Medical Assistant.

  • Certification: National Certification is required (NHA, AAMA, NHA or NCCT) within 6 months.

  • Experience: One year of experience in a community based medical practice Internal Medicine preferred
