Purpose Statement

The Machine Operatorcontrols machinery to mold ice cream cakes in a safe, sanitary, cost-effective, and efficient manner that meets company food safety and quality standards.Also maximizing product quality / attractiveness through strong leadership and achieve individual outputs to support your team in meeting their production goals.In addition to assisting theCasting Lead in the supervision of molding cakes on the assigned line.


Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DECISIONS



  1. Ensure all associates follow all safety and food safety and quality standards.

  2. Must be able to communicate issues throughout the shift and make adjustments as necessary.

  3. Must be able to perform minor problem-solving skills and have sufficient mechanical abilities to help complete machine changeover and other minor adjustments.

  4. Must be able to identify product acceptance according to quality criteria, i.e. inspect crumb and adjust excess crumb from the pan to make sure the crumb is even.

  5. Required to operate machinery as necessary while maintaining the speed of the line.

  6. Responsible for documenting and updating production reporting.

  7. Must be familiar with proper formulation of all types of ingredients.

  8. Must know the sequence of events for setups and startups. Ensure that the necessary supplies are in place prior to start up and during production run.

  9. Ensures that Standard work, 6S and Quick changeover standards are being followed.

  10. Support the AM implementation of their line and develop the capabilities of their equipment owners.

  11. Coach equipment owner I along with production associates and provide regular feedback on their development needs.

  12. Monitoring of assigned line's productivity metrics and product quality.


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS



  • HS degree or GED required

  • 2 years' experience in a food-processing, pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing organization, preferably using computerized manufacturing equipment.

  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures and HACCP

  • Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated mechanical and spatial aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and understand complex mathematical equations.

  • Proficient using Microsoft 365 - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBi, and outlook.

  • Proficient in using SAP Production system.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Moderate degree of physical activity on a frequent basis.

  • Must be able to lift 50bs.

  • Repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, climbing, reaching, and moving about the facility.

  • Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements. Works in high noise area and wears the appropriate hearing protection.

  • Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

  • Exposure to cold/ heat/ humidity.
