Job Description:

The Ralph E. Martin Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applications from all research areas are welcome. The Chemical Engineering department is home to 17 faculty members with diverse expertise spanning healthcare, energy, advanced materials, separations, nanotechnology, and sustainability. With $29M in endowments, including 13 endowed chairs and professorships, the department is poised to support excellence in research, teaching, and service.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field
  • Demonstrated potential for high-quality research, including securing research funding and generating high-quality publications Collaborative and interdisciplinary synergy with existing strengths on campus Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-doctoral research experience Demonstrated potential for high-quality teaching and service to the department, university, and profession Strong commitment to quality undergraduate and graduate education Commitment to promoting community and engagement

The duties of this position include: (1) developing and sustaining an externally funded research program leading to national and international recognition; (2) teaching and mentoring undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows; (3) performing service activities commensurate with the position.
