Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician 1, Mechanic - Fleet Services isresponsible for providing intermediate service and repair of College vehicles,golf carts, UTV's, tractors and other equipment while providing exceptionalcustomer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform intermediate service andrepairs of College road vehicles to include: inspections, troubleshooting, anddiagnostics of engine and transmissions, mechanical, electrical, suspensionsystems, cooling systems, air conditioning, fuel systems including diesel, andbrake systems
Performs service and repair ofoff-road equipment including electric golf carts, UTV's, small tractors,trailering equipment, and sports field equipment.
Performs preventative maintenanceto include engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, brake andsuspension service, replacing filters, multi-point inspections
Repair or replace worn parts, suchas brake pads and wheel bearings
Test and lubricate the vehicle'sengine and other major components
Test drive vehicles to determinerepair needs and confirm repairs have been completed properly
Maintains vehicle service recordsin a computerized system
Disassemble and reassemble parts
Operate machinery, equipment, and avariety of power and hand tools associated with vehicle maintenance and repair
Ensure repairs are effective byusing testing equipment
Use computerized diagnosticequipment to determine mechanical maintenance needs
Assists in the pick up and deliveryof vehicles to and from College sites and service vendors
Operate a variety of vehicles withautomatic transmissions
Maintain and clean equipment andtools
Use safe work practices, to includeproper lifting and carrying, automotive lift safety, and other automotivespecific safety methods
Follow applicable federal, state,and local laws, codes, and regulations
Provide exceptional customerservice
Communicate clearly both orally andin writing sufficient to receive and convey instructions to perform the dutiesof the job
Operate as part of a team
Attend training provided by theCollege as well as external training
Job Requirements:
High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) and
5 years of automotive service experience with 1 year being advanced and
Valid Arizona Driver's License and demonstration of an acceptable driving record and
ASE A1, A4 and A5 certification or the ability to obtain within the first six months of employment
Additional ASE A, E, L or T Series certifications a plus including Master Tech
