Physical Requirements | This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens. |
Shift | Primarily 8:00am – 4:30pm; Monday through Friday. Some weekend and/or holiday requirements per departmental need. |
Job Summary | The Clinical Research Hematology/Oncology Pharmacist provides hematology/oncology pharmacy expertise in support of investigational drug trials in Markey Cancer Center. The pharmacist supports the research mission of Markey Cancer Center by assisting in protocol review and assisting in the creation and maintenance of research protocol treatment plans in the EHR, working closely with IT and acquiring Pharmacist Builder/Beacon Certification. The pharmacist will also support the research mission by leading QA/QI projects that arise from collaborative meetings, providing support in the development of investigator-initiated protocols with regards to pharmacology and pharmacy logistics, and participating in protocol audits as requested. The pharmacist also makes clinical interventions in terms of promoting rational, cost-effective drug therapy that enhances the quality of care in line with Enterprise goals. The pharmacist will interact with pharmacy residents and students and will provide education to multidisciplinary staff as needed. The pharmacist will represent oncology pharmacy on Enterprise and Cancer Center Committees as warranted. |
