Location/Division Specific Information:



The Environmental and Process Monitoring (EPM) Business Unit (BU) within the Analytical Instruments Group is a leader in the development of air quality and process monitoring solutions that ensure worker health, cleaner air, and increased customer efficiency.


Location for this role is preferred at our Franklin, MA site.



Position Summary:



We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with experience in a scientific market to join our team as a Business Development and Government Relations Manager. This role requires a strategic problem solver who can effectively drive business growth while navigating the intricacies of government relations.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for the Environmental and Process Monitoring Business.

  • Develop strategies to expand customer base and increase revenue in technical instrumentation.

  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and officials in the scientific community.

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting scientific instrument operations.

  • Advocate for company interests and provide strategic advice on government processes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative proposals.


Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or equivalent is required; Advanced degree preferred


Experience:



  • 5+ years experience in business development, including identifying and pursuing new opportunities within the scientific instrument market.

  • Proven knowledge and experience in technical instrumentation, with a deep understanding of its applications and relevance within the scientific market.

  • Strong background in handling government relations, including building and maintaining relationships with government agencies and officials in the scientific community.


Skills & Abilities:



  • Adept at influencing in a matrixed environment, driving accountability to timelines and commitments from individuals junior and senior in the organization

  • Comfortable making independent decisions and adopting change

  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills to lead timely results across multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to understand business strategies and prioritize activities appropriately
