About the job
Our Greenwood service center is adding a Plate Heat Exchanger (PHE) Mechanic to our team, and we'd like to hear from you. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to disassemble, inspect, repair, measure, and assemble products and subassemblies to bring them up to specification standards.
As a part of the team, you will:
Perform equipment receipt, uncrate, clean, strip and tear down units.
Inspect, repair, service, test and package following the company's policies, procedures, quality and Safety guidelines.
Work from drawings, parts lists, blueprints, charts, tables and graphs to evaluate and assist in estimating repair costs, time and materials or parts needed to repair assemblies and subassemblies.
Set up and operate test stands and related equipment as required.
Set up and balance rotating equipment using approved balancing methods
Record written test results
Follow the quality plan per job to repair product
Complete diagnostic checks and correct mechanical functions through adjustments, using various tools and approved repair methods.
Move material inside shop as needed.
Recognize and communicate the need for replenishment of supplies, tools, need repair parts and other facility needs to supervision in a timely manner.
Keep work area and surrounding equipment clean and organized.
Paint, pack, crate, and document shipment of units, parts and materials.
What you know
You have a High School Diploma or equivalent and prior experience in:
Manual repair/workshop/manufacturing environments
Operating fork lift trucks, hand pallet jacks and/or overhead cranes
Candidates who are successful in this role usually have:
Understanding of blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work instructions
Able to use measuring devices (tape measure, depth micrometer)
Experience with hand tools
Good mechanical aptitude
Ability to diagnose mechanical problems
Basic computer knowledge, to scan bar codes and clock in and out
Ability to follow directions, with strong attention to detail
Read, write and effectively communicate in the English language
Because we work in a manufacturing environment, we'd like you to know that it's a typical shop environment. We have concrete floors, heavy machinery, and require the use of safety shoes and other PPE as needed. You'll need to be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds as required and be willing to wear company supplied uniforms.
