We are seeking a dynamic Trade Show Exhibit Estimator to join our team in the fast-paced trade show industry. This role is responsible for providing accurate cost estimates and quotations for trade show exhibit projects. They collaborate with the sales team, project managers, production manager, designers and purchasing to gather all the necessary information and specifications required to create a comprehensive estimate. The estimator plays a crucial role in ensuring that the company delivers competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Estimation: Analyze project requirements, including exhibit design plans, specifications, materials, labor, and any additional services or features requested by the client. Prepare detailed cost estimates that include itemized breakdowns of materials, labor hours, subcontractor costs, and any other relevant expenses.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team and project managers to understand client expectations, project objectives, and deadlines. Collaborate with internal teams, such as design, production, and logistics, to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimates.
  • Supplier and Vendor Coordination: Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information for materials, custom elements, and other services required for the project. Maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate favorable pricing and terms.
  • Cost Analysis and Optimization: Continuously evaluate cost structures and seek opportunities to optimize expenses without compromising quality or client satisfaction. Identify cost-saving alternatives and recommend value engineering solutions to enhance profitability.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of estimates, quotations, and any revisions made during the estimating process. Provide regular reports and updates on estimation progress to the sales team, project managers, and management.
  • Industry and Market Research: Stay updated on the latest trends, pricing, and technologies within the trade show and exhibit industry. Conduct market research to benchmark pricing and ensure the company remains competitive.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools
  • Knowledge of trade show exhibit materials, fabrication techniques, and industry standards
  • Familiarity with pricing structures and cost factors related to exhibit design and construction
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management and organizational abilities to meet deadlines
  • Negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from suppliers and vendors
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address unexpected challenges

Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience in estimating, project management, or a related role within the trade show or exhibit industry is highly desirable.
  • CAD experience is highly desirable, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Etc
  • Exhibit Force and NetSuite experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or business administration is preferred.
