Job Description:

Director of Identity and Access Management (IAM)

Location: San Jose, Irvine (CA), or Austin (TX)

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Identity and Access Management (IAM) to lead the IAM strategy and operations for our semiconductor manufacturing client. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in IAM technologies, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure, with a focus on driving innovation in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IAM strategy aligned with business objectives and security requirements.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert in IAM disciplines such as Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), access and authorization, privileged access management, and identity verification.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure and Application teams to manage IAM technologies and infrastructure lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance IAM performance, reduce costs, and improve processes.
  • Lead and manage IAM resources, including personnel and financial support.
  • Oversee IAM solutions across platforms (Active Directory, Windows, Mac, Linux, mobile devices, on-premise, and cloud).
  • Ensure alignment of IAM priorities with the organization's security strategy and IT architecture.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate IAM requirements into applications and platforms.
  • Stay current on trends in IAM, AI, and machine learning, to drive innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices through the development of IAM policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships and provide reports to senior management on IAM performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Conduct IAM-related risk assessments and audits, and implement necessary remediation measures.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in IAM leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of IAM technologies such as Okta, Active Directory, and other leading solutions.
  • Understanding of IAM standards (e.g., OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect).
  • Experience managing IAM solutions in on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Strong grasp of cybersecurity principles related to IAM.
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Proven project management skills in large-scale IAM implementations.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA).
  • Experience with IGA solutions and Privileged Access Management (PAM) tools.
  • Knowledge of AI developments related to IAM.
  • Financial analysis and budget management experience for IT projects.
  • Familiarity with advanced IAM platforms like SailPoint, Saviynt.
  • Understanding of emerging trends in IAM, including adaptive authentication and zero trust architectures.
