Summary: Oversees the direction, coordination, and development of the Scragg Mill Operations Team, ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of all facility equipment, structures and grounds, timely completion of all production goals and KPIs, balanced management of the budget, and scheduling.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Manages, communicates, and conducts behavior in direct support of company foundation and pillars.
Ensure implementation and adherence to best practices for preserving safe asset functionality, reliability and integrity
Develop and implement standards and processes to improve safety, quality and productivity
Ensure all members of the department are trained, developed and able to perform their tasks safely in a timely manner. Coach and discipline when needed.
Responsible for managing the Scragg Mill operational budget, improving effectiveness of the department through complex analysis of available data and for overall efficiency of the site's workforce and assets
Maintain appropriate production and personnel documentation and logs
Ensure steadfast, daily communication with Plant Manager through status reporting in matters of production, materials, and personnel, as appropriate.
Collaborate with Shift Supervisors to create programs & plans to ensure that the proper machine operations, and crew safety are followed, to include steadfast adherence to all Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and Hotwork permitting protocols
Lead the department in execution of assigned projects while maintaining the budget, forecasts, and timelines
Ensure workforce safety and operational efficiency of the equipment through the development of effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Empower the crews to maintain their equipment safely and effectively
Travels as necessary, up to 25%, to assist with training, auditing and various administrative functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Primary Function Qualifications
Direct experience with management / supervision of personnel and team leadership. Experience in supervising all phases of Scragg Mill operations. Sawmill experience preferred.
