The Director of BridgeWater Learning Center is responsible for making sure the daycare runs smoothly, continues to grow, and is a ministry to children attending. Director reports to the church liaison and will conduct him/herself in a Christian manner so as to reinforce Christian behavior of staff and students as well as live within the guidelines of Scripture.
Basic Skills:

Able to step into a classroom as needed
Ability to lead staff and delegate when needed
General Duties:
Answer telephones and relay messages to appropriate person
Staff scheduling when Administrative Assistant is not in attendance
Conduct Interviews
Hire/Terminate
Plan/organize book orders, picture days, preschool graduations, open house, conference nights, Christmas Programs, and summer camps
Plan teacher and parent appreciation
Work with church liaison to schedule repairs and maintenance issues for center, relaying to church office when needed
Develop and prepare parent and staff surveys
Ensure all new staff have proper paperwork to begin work
Prepare any staff memos to be given out
Verify proper clock in and out's are being completed
Administer medication to children, making sure that proper forms are on file
Family Relations:
Communicate with parents regarding child care services, fees, and regulations
Give tours to prospective families and enroll new children
Get to know parents and keep them informed of activities at the center
Respond to parent questions/concerns in a timely manner
Notify parents if a child becomes ill or injured and compete sick observation form
Monitor waiting list and call families when openings become available
Rules, Compliance and trainings:
Stay current of new development in the field
Ensure compliance with all state and local licensing regulations
Ensure state binder stays current and up to date
Conduct fire drills, lock down drills, and tornado drills
Maintain Step Up To Quality evidence binder
Playground inspections quarterly
The Director is to create an environment communicating to each child they are loved by God. The children come first, and each child needs to be treated as an individual. Each child brings gifts as well as issues, so being sensitive and attentive to their talents and needs is of utmost importance. These are basic guidelines for the position and there is room for changes in the job description as needed as well as dividing tasks among current administration staff.
