Job Description:

The Manager Field Engineer is an integral part of Fisica Datron's Customer Field Service/Project Management Organization. This is an extremely diverse position, whose main function is to respond to technical inquires that are received from our customers'. This candidate will be responsible along with the assigned Project Manager to engage the Engineering Department to assist in the resolution of all fielded antenna system technical inquires, which may includeoverseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the antenna systems. Serves as company liaison with the customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Interprets customers' needs and clarifies where the responsibility for the problem resolution lies.

This positions technical skill set includes system and component test, microwave, electrical and mechanical engineering capabilities. This position will also be required to analyze fielded system configurations to propose preventative maintenance, address obsolescence and additional spares in addition to general customer question/answer. Traveling to operational ground stations with locations around the world, to evaluate and/or visit customer is a requirement. In addition to product management skills, this candidate must understand that the position is primarily focused on Customer Support and service to the customer. Some training of customer personnel on system operation may be required when visiting operational ground stations. More specific responsibilities include fielded risk reduction and ensuring that Fisica-Datron expertise is utilized to its fullest for fielded systems. In addition to developing strong customer relationships, there is additional responsibilities to maximize the current customer base service and support.

Manages individual(s) typically consisting of experienced project managers. Leads, directs and reviews the work of direct report(s) who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Has hiring, firing, promotion and compensation authority within own organization, in accordance with management review and approval. This position reports to the Director of Program Management.

Communicates with parties within and outside of the organization which includes customers and/or vendors. Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or After Market products to enhance performance of job area. Conducts extensive investigation to understand root cause of problems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise internal Customer Support/Project Managers (2) and increase staff as required.

Responsible for the Department Profit & Loss and On Time Delivery metrics (OTD).

Responsible for all customer spares, repairs, warranty and preventative maintenance of installed antennas throughout the world.

Schedule and coordinate field service visits.

Assist in the acquiring of Field Service Test Technicians to cover serviceable regions worldwide.

Define, develop and review all existing fielded systems for upgrades, obsolescence and spares.

Coordinate technical activities with the Engineering Department when required by unusual or difficult technical problems.

Develop and maintain strong customer relations.

Experience and Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience.

Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.

In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Requires management and leadership knowledge in job area.

Typically has comprehensive knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline and may have broad understanding of other areas within the job function.

Willingness to travel to customer antenna ground stations (up to 25%).

Ability to obtain a future Security Clearance is required for the role. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $101,500-188,500k. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
