Job Title: Sr. Buyer, Capital Equipment and Materials
Job Summary: Alsym Energy is looking for a self-driven and motivated procurement professional. This position will be responsible for the purchase of capital equipment and raw materials to support the development and manufacturing of Alsym battery products. This includes securing battery raw materials and actively leading the development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders. This position will be responsible in shaping Alsym's Supply Chain organization and setting up for success in both prototyping and planning for high volume manufacturing.

Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field required
A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Background in battery, chemical or semiconductor manufacturing industry is preferred
Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise, and problem-solve
Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with various stakeholders and ability to grow into a procurement leadership position
Experience procuring both capital equipment and raw materials highly desirable
Experience working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Experience in contract drafting, redlining, and working cross functionally with legal
Highly proficient oral and written communication skills
Adept at engaging and presenting to Senior Executives, tailoring to the audience
Ability to manage the cost model of the product and its subcomponents
Experience managing and negotiating commercial issues with suppliers
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute purchasing strategies based on business, market, and technology trends and establish strong and competitive supply base
Responsible for purchase materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services
Develop and manage supplier relationships for R&D and Manufacturing
Responsible for driving development of the commodity strategy, supplier sourcing/negotiations, budget execution for high volume manufacturing
Develop protection of supply and contingency plans to de-risk and supply issues
Drive supply forecasts with assistance of the product team
