Human Resources Generalist

Port Wentworth, GA

Salary: $55 - 65k Based on Experience

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

POSITION SCOPE:

Responsible for the execution of day-to-day administrative operations within the People & Culture Department, the People & Culture Generalist oversees the administration of policies, procedures and programs and carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefit, compensation, file management, timekeeping, database administration, orientation and onboarding, and recruitment and selection.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Working with moderately complex information as related to analysis, problem solving, and reasoning to perform job duties with effectiveness and performing complex querying across multiple databases
  • Maintain and monitor HR- KPIs/KRIs and flag people-related risks in a proactive manner; Perform analysis to provide relevant, credible, and actionable insights
  • Conceptualize and build dashboards and advanced data visualizations in a clear and compelling way to business audiences at all levels and proactively identify opportunities to enhance reporting.
  • Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding activities, including creating orientation schedules for new hires, delivering new hire training, carrying out initial employee set up activities in different systems and desk setups.
  • Run and report daily Absence Tracker; maintain attendance on Anatolia's HRIS Ceridian Dayforce HCM for both salary and hourly staff
  • Support the bi-weekly payroll process by ensuring scanning and electronic filing is completed and accurate, all information required for payroll has been entered into applicable databases, and timesheets on Ceridian are maintained, complete reviews of Banked Time & Employee Expense Reports for accuracy.
  • Conducts regular audits of payroll, benefits, pension, and other HR data and recommends corrective measures as determined
  • Responsible for recruitment efforts by updating job descriptions and other initiatives or tasks as assigned
  • Responsible for the offboarding process; creating transition plans and conducting exit surveys/interviews
  • Process benefits enrollments for new hires after 3 months of employment and respond to employee inquiries about company benefits plan & 401k plan; advise carriers of employee updates including terminations, change of address, change of dependents, etc.
  • Maintain accurate and update-to-date employee records in Ceridian Dayforce, Laserfiche and manual employee files
  • Coordinate 45-day, 3 month, and annual performance reviews, including collecting and filing of all completed documentation and monitoring and following up with management and staff as required to ensure the timely completion of reviews
  • Prepare and distribute internal correspondence including communications from management, newsletters, and updates to policies and procedures, information about company events, etc.
  • Coordinate company social events as a member of the Social Committee
  • Accountability for quality, accuracy, and adherence to work instructions with some discretion required when exercising duties within pre-determined limits and procedures
  • Occasionally provide guidance to other staff as needed in relation to the execution of job duties and assigned projects
  • Assist with general employee questions/concerns, employee relation
  • Perform other duties and HR projects as assigned

This position also requires:
  • Demonstrated understanding that work contributions have some influence beyond the immediate HR department and as such duties are executed with care, accuracy, and compliance to instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to apply creative problem solving and idea generation to work tasks as required
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other departments while maintaining confidentiality
  • Capability to deliver a consistently high level of customer service to internal or external customers is required
  • Understanding that work efforts may have a minor impact on the employer brand and public reputation and as such ensure that behavior and communications shall be professional and accurate at all times
  • Application of servant leadership in order to deliver an exceptional customer experience 100% of the time

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary degree in human resources related field required; PHR designation preferred
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar capacity from within a similarly related industry is required
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects/requisitions
  • High level of proficiency with data management and analytics
  • Advanced level proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce and MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to create and maintain lasting rapport and relationships amongst all levels within the organization
  • Ability to work varying hours in order to accommodate business needs

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Most work is performed in a standard office environment with limited exposure to adverse conditions or health and safety risks
  • Position requires low level of sustained visual attention, moderate manual dexterity on a regular basis with sitting at length
