The Inventory Control Manager maintains the inventory function and inv/production staff for the distribution center. Maintain accuracy and integrity of the distribution center inventory by monitoring the movement into, out of, and inside the building utilizing the WMS system. Review and schedule production of assembly items, supervise and direct cycle counts, maintain disposition on discontinued items. Hold DC staff accountable to inventory integrity and best practices.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages distribution center inventory to achieve goals for inventory integrity and fill rate
Maintain accuracy through generating proper and numerous cycle counts based on discrepancies flags generated by the Inventory System.
Ensure inventory balance between WMS and ERP systems maintain alignment
Approve discrepancies and obtain appropriate approval for large dollar value adjustments, conduct necessary research to determine root causes.
Monitoring of replenishments available, bin moves and adjustments between primary homes
Monitor damage and return items to ensure proper adjustments are being made
Manage all aspects of inventory as it pertains to Inventory System related issues
Maintain disposition on close out, returns, and discontinued items
Investigate quality issues and follow up with QA department to determine disposition of issues and affected product
Continuous and open communication with the other inventory and product managers to ensure product moves are handled in the best interest of the company and the most cost effective manner
Provide full support to picking staff as needed
Maintaining of files related to inventory and product movement
Maintain proper slotting and strategic item placement throughout the facility based on velocity and pick path efficiencies, slot new items strategically within the layout
Schedule all production planning and dates, ensure proper inventory levels, order product as needed, report status to necessary functional areas
Oversee the receiving team and equipment operators to insure transactional accuracy and timeliness
Requirements:
Associate's Degree or related work experience
3-5 years experience managing inventory function for a distribution center
WMS experience
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
Strong time management skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks through delegation and inter-departmental communication
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Strong experience with WMS and RF technology
Operation of material handling equipment (i.e. stock picker, forklift) helpful
Ability to climb stairs, prolonged walking and sitting
Ability to lift 50 lbs and over occasionally
Frequent radio communication in an at times noisy environment
