Job Duties
Understanding of purchasing policies and procedures
Ability to issue bids,analyze and evaluate supplier proposals, draft blanket orders, one-time purchase orders, and administer service agreements.
Negotiation skills to purchase assigned commodities at a favorable price consistent with required quantity, quality, and delivery.
Understanding of purchasing documents and their purpose; knowledge of insurance and indemnification requirements
Understanding of contract terms and conditions
Ability to conduct / lead meetings with suppliers to gain insight into current market conditions and product knowledge.
Possess excellent customer service skills and recordkeeping skills.
Ability to oversee special projects.
Ability to identify supplier options and determine Key Performance Indicators
Ability to assist in the maintenance of the vendor base.
Ability to resolve a variety of purchasing issues/problems for both internal and external customers (i.e., unblock invoices to secure payment for vendors, provide expediting services
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and four years of Supply Chain Management experience
5 years of supply chain management experience
CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Chain
Management) certification preferred.
Experience with SAP Materials Management and GEP.
Strong knowledge with bids, vendor management, contracts, and supplier management (services)
