We are seeking a Buyer/Planner, New Product Introduction (NPI) to execute and manage procurement and planning activities for new product introduction (NPI). This position is responsible for all sourcing, planning, purchasing activities to meet NPI cost, quality and delivery requirements with a hands-on role in evaluating supplier capability and problem resolution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Source new components and services from new and existing supplier base.
  • Maintain uninterrupted supply of material to meet build schedule requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure on time hardware build schedule.
  • Continuously monitor and follow up to assure on-time delivery.
  • Expedite, reschedule or change scheduled deliveries as dictated by changes in demand to align supply with demand.
  • Participate in project review meetings and provide timely updates to project engineer and program manager on delivery status and recovery plans.
  • Process supplier deviation requests and attain approvals from internal customer(s).
  • Coordinate and support on-site supplier assessment/certification audits.
  • Assess supplier quality capability, participate in quality audits and ensure timely resolution of any supplier quality issues.
  • Drive supplier quality improvements through the supplier corrective action processes.
  • Actively participate in Project to Process and Production Readiness activities, ensuring that design drawings include pertinent quality standards and quality risks are appropriately assessed and mitigated.

Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations Management or other related discipline with 5 years relevant experience in Aerospace, Military and Defense manufacturing environment with direct responsibility for sourcing, contract management, planning & supplier quality assessment or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • 5+ years in lead procurement/planning role with emphasis on complex high precision machined parts, electro-mechanical assemblies and electronics components and assemblies for NPI in aerospace industrial applications.
  • Quality experience relating to supplier capability assessment, problem resolution and supply chain development/improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, in oral and written form, along with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with outstanding follow up skills
  • Experience and knowledge of ITAR/EAR rules and regulations as established by the US Government
  • Working knowledge of FARS, DFARS and related US Government contracting regulations
  • Experience working within formal quality management system (AS9100, ISO9001-2015, etc.) environment.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques. Personal protective equipment may be required in some warehouse areas. Position duties will primarily be indoors with occasional travel to nearby suppliers

Salary Range:

$45/hr. - $55/hr.
