We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Improvement Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering and a passion for optimizing manufacturing processes. This role will involve developing and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall product quality. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual with a proven track record of driving process improvements, cost reductions, and successful product launches.
Responsibilities
Process Documentation:
Develop and maintain clear and concise work instructions to ensure consistent process execution.
Time Studies:
Conduct time studies to accurately measure cycle times and identify opportunities for improvement.
Line Balancing:
Analyze and balance production lines to optimize workflow, minimize bottlenecks, and maximize output.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Data Analysis:
Collect and analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and potential solutions.
Continuous Improvement:
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee involvement and problem-solving.
BOM Routing/Costing:
Maintain and update Bill of Materials (BOM) routing and costing information in SAP to ensure accurate cost calculations and production planning.
Production Capacity Analysis:
Analyze production capacity to identify constraints, optimize resource allocation, and ensure timely delivery of products.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, SQL).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including welding and assembly
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen methodology.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong project management and organizational abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Experience working with APQP projects.
Knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, PPAP, SPC, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
Experience with exhaust system manufacturing.
Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
Proficient with automation and robotics.
Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is preferred
Proficiency in SolidWorks for fixture and gauge design.
Experience in welding processes and procedures.
Knowledge of robotic programming and operation.
