Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee heavy civil construction projects, with a focus on grading and wet utilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Collect and record daily quantity data from Foreman and Subcontractors.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Engineers to review daily activities and develop 3-week look-ahead schedules.
Align daily and weekly schedules with Foreman.
Organize and schedule all project materials and equipment needs through Dispatch and Trade Superintendent.
Perform regular site inspections to ensure that safety protocols are adhered to and project sites are free of hazards.
Ensure adherence to company safety policies and OSHA standards.
Coordinate new hires, crew needs, disciplinary actions, and terminations in collaboration with Trade Superintendent and Field Operations Manager.
Maintain relationships with owners' representatives and ensure timely notification for inspections.
Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with production tracking, cost management, and change orders.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil construction
Knowledge of CPM Project Scheduling, MS Office Suite, including MS Project
Understanding of MAG, MCDOT, ADOT, MCAQD, ADEQ and Greater Phoenix Municipal Standards
Experience in grading and wet utilities
Ability to read and interpert blueprints
Knowledge of job cost reports
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Excellent knowledge of Heavy Civil construction processes, regulations, and standards
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
