Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Civil Project Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of our large-scale civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy civil construction, strong project management skills, and a background in logistics. As a Heavy Civil Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects within budget and on time, while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities Plan and manage all phases of civil construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation- Oversee project logistics, including procurement of materials and equipment- Communicate and collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and team members- Ensure project compliance with safety and environmental regulations- Develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and adjust as needed- Manage project budgets, including cost estimating, forecasting, and controlling expenses- Identify and mitigate project risks, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise- Oversee quality control processes to ensure project meets or exceeds specifications- Utilize project management software and tools to track project progress and communicate updates to relevant parties
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a project management role
Strong knowledge of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management
Experience with estimating, budgeting, and cost control for large-scale projects- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
Extensive knowledge of highway construction processes and standards
Ability to interpret and understand construction plans and specifications
Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively
Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
