Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Architect to join our dynamic team at Blankfactor. This role is crucial in shaping our data strategy, ensuring the robustness, scalability, and efficiency of our data architecture. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake and cloud platforms, with a proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and Design: Lead the architecture and design of scalable, reliable, and secure data systems, with a strong focus on cloud data warehousing solutions, particularly Snowflake.
  • Data Integration: Develop and implement data integration strategies that ensure seamless data flow between various sources and destinations, utilizing ETL/ELT processes.
  • Data Modeling: Design and optimize data models to meet business requirements and ensure high performance for data retrieval and analysis.
  • Cloud Data Solutions: Implement cloud-based data storage solutions using AWS, GCP, and other relevant platforms, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize existing data systems for improved performance, reduced latency, and enhanced data processing capabilities.
  • Governance & Security: Establish and enforce data governance, including data quality, security protocols, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Analysts, to align data architecture with business needs.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data architecture, big data technologies, and cloud services to continuously innovate and improve our data infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field, with a significant focus on cloud data solutions and big data technologies.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Proficient in Snowflake and experience in architecting and implementing Snowflake-based data solutions.
  • Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with AWS and GCP, particularly in the context of data storage, data lakes, and data warehousing.
  • Data Processing: Expertise in Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Apache Hive, and Hadoop ecosystems (HDFS, Sqoop, Kudu, Cloudera).
  • Programming Languages: Proficient in Java, Python (3.6+), and SQL.
  • Big Data Tools: Experience with Jenkins, Unix/Linux environments, and other data processing tools.
  • Database Management: Strong knowledge of Oracle databases, JDBC, and data modeling principles.
  • Web Technologies: Familiarity with JavaScript, JSP, Struts, Hibernate, WebLogic, and Eclipse.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile environments, particularly with Scrum frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Snowflake, AWS, or GCP certifications are a plus.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead data architecture projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable strategies.
